Matt Condon is one of the founders of
Athletic & Rehabilitation Center and RedefineAthletes.com and serves as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. ARC is the Midwest’s premiere provider of physical and occupational therapy, rehabilitation, work conditioning programs, individualized functional employment testing including post-offer employment testing and strength conditioning and training programs. The company recently introduced it’s new on-line, virtual workout website, RedefineAthletes.com, that features prehabilitation, and goal-specific workout videos customized to the user’s needs.
The launch of RedefineAthletes.com was a natural next step for Condon, who is passionate about healthcare, fitness and sports performance. Prior to forming ARC, Matt worked at the International Performance Institute in Bradenton, Florida, training and developing professional athletes under the renowned specialist Mark Verstegen.
Matt received his degree in Exercise Physiology while playing football and serving as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Iowa State University. He went on to receive a Masters in Business Administration and Law Degree for the University of Toledo, Ohio. Additionally, he clerked in the legal division of the University of Kansas Athletic Department. Matt is a licensed attorney in Missouri and Kansas.
Condon’s team is highly regarded for combining excellence in customer care, state- of-the-art technology and methodology with experienced, specialized and physical therapists, athletic trainers and sports medicine professionals to improve our client’s quality of health, performance and life. Matt is best known in the business and healthcare community as a professional who puts words into action. His overriding philosophy is to redefine “Excellence” in

Under Matt’s guidance ARC has grown from one clinic to seven clinics, with 42 therapists and a staff of nearly 60 company-wide in just six short years. Doug Edwards, ATC/L; Work Conditioning Coordinator, Director of Sports Performance
Doug Edwards owns two national championship rings from his time as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhusker’s five-time National Championship Football team. And that was just the beginning of a working with some of the most talented athletes in the U.S. Doug is the Director of Sports Performance and Work Conditioning Coordinator at The Athletic & Rehabilitation Center in Kansas City and has been with the organization since May of 2004.
He has 17 years experience working with athletes in the areas of sports medicine, sports performance and physical therapy. Doug is known throughout the Kansas City area as one of the finest sports performance specialist in the area – having worked with athletes from high school through professional. Doug’s unique education and experience allow him to combine his expertise in physiology and human performance in working with both injured and healthy individuals. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia, where he was a student athletic trainer for the football, basketball and wrestling teams, Doug continued his education at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. There he worked with the Wrestling and 2-time National Champion Football programs. Doug also did an internship as an Athletic Trainer for the Kansas City Chiefs Football Club.
Dorothy Cobb, PT, CSCS, OCS; Director of Organizational Development
For over 10 years Dorothy Cobb, a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Physical Therapist, has been treating and training athletes of all kinds — from middle school to professional. (Learn more about how Dorothy tortures Paul Shirley in "The Road to Recovery." Former Director of ARC's Overland Park Clinic, Dorothy was recently named to a new position, Director of Organizational Development. The goal of the program is to provide a ARC therapists with a formalized continuing education program – beyond the advanced degrees clinicians already hold.
Dorothy joined ARC in 2004. This year, Dorothy was selected to participate in the Gray Institute for Functional Training (GIFT) program. This highly prestigious, ten-month advanced professional education program teaches advanced functional biomechanical evaluation and treatment as a revolutionizing approach to injury prevention, early intervention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement.
Dorothy is a sought after speaker and regularly speaks on topics ranging from functional training, patient symptom magnification, injury repairs and rehabilitation to fitness and aging.
Dorothy graduated (magna cum laude) from the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist is 2005 and a Board Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2006. Most recently she became Board Certified as an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Specialist through the APTA.
Aaron Kleinwolterink, CSCS; Performance Specialist
With a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Aaron first became interested in fitness during his eight years in the United States Marine Corps. He was assigned the position of Platoon Remedial Physical Training Instructor and was in charge of Marines fulfilling their physical fitness requirements.
Following his military service, Aaron attended Iowa State University where he graduated with a degree in Exercise Science. During his time at ISU, he served as one of the Football Strength and Conditioning staff and later completed an internship with the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Department, working with Soccer, Volleyball, Softball, Swimming, Basketball and Track athletes.
In 2004, he assumed the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator position at the Centers for Athletic Performance where he annually trained and collected data on over 1,000 athletes of all ages. The majority of his research was targeted towards strength, power and plyometric training. Aaron has authored and published several studies documenting improved vertical performance, strength gains and power gains from various types of programs.
In February of 2009, he assumed the role of the Sports Performance Specialist with ARC. He currently manages the Sports Performance Academy at Levo Gym in Riverside, MO where he is helping athletes of all ages reach their goals whether it's sports performance training, weight loss and general fitness. Aaron currently holds a CSCS certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Ben Peterson, MSPT, DPT, Independence Clinic Director
As a former professional football player for the Cincinnati Bengals, Ben Peterson has a first hand perspective of what it takes to train athletes for success. Now, with his Masters and Doctor of Physical Therapy, Ben is one of the most highly respected and sought after professionals in the Midwest. Ben, also the Director of the ARC's Independence, Mo, clinic, specializes in work and sports-related injuries and regularly holds sports and injury prevention clinics.
He completed his bachelor’s degree at Pittsburg State University where he was an All-American football Player and Academic All-American for the Gorillas. He received his Masters and Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center. He went on to play professional football for the Cincinnati Bengals after his education at Pittsburg State. In addition to being the director of ARC in Independence, Ben serves as head of the ARC’s customer service team.
Jennifer Stanion, ATC/L, MHR; Performance Specialist
As one of ARC's performance specialists, Jen works with athletes day in and day out. She works with several Major League Baseball and NCAA Division One athletes as well as serving as Athletic Trainer for a variety of teams including KC PumpNRun (Men's AAU basketball team), KC Tribe (Women's Football), and KC Kaos (Men's semi-pro football).
Jen began her career at University of Kansas with an undergraduate degree in Athletic Training. There she worked as a student athletic trainer for the Jayhawks football, baseball and women's basketball teams. She was president of the student athletic training club at the University during senior year. Additionally, her article, “Pellegrini Stieda Disease in Collegiate Baseball Player” was published in the Journal of Athletic Training in 2003 and presented as a poster presentation in 2003 at the National Athletic Training Association Conference.
After graduation, Jen became the head athletic trainer at Johnson County Community College. She went on to earn her Masters degree in Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma. There, she was responsible for all Athletic Training care for the University softball team, and post-season services for the Big 12 Women's Softball Tournament and the Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
Prior to joining ARC, Jen was assistant Athletic Trainer at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. She created and oversaw strengthening and functional rehabilitation for all athletes in all sports and worked closely with the men’s and women’s soccer and basketball teams. She was part of the men's soccer team that was in the NAIA Final Four in Daytona, FL in 2006 and traveled with the Women's basketball team that participated in the NAIA National Tournament during the 2006/2007 season.
Jen volunteers for a variety of pro bono projects including ARC's P.L.A.Y. Program (Promoting Lifefestyles of Active Youth) in partnership with the KIPP Endeavor Academy to help underprivileged, urban core youth develop healthy, fit, lifestyles and ARC's fitness assessments for the women athletes competing in the Win for KC 2009 triathlon.
Mark Kohls, APT, DPT; Performance Specialist
Mark Kohls has a long a successful history coaching and training athletes. He’s coached basketball at the high school level and coaches basketball camps for the University of Kansas each summer and currently serves as Athletic Trainer for the Kansas Koyotes — an area arena football team.
Mark attended the University of Kansas, graduating with a degree in Athletic Training. As a Student Athletic Trainer, Mark worked with the Men’s Basketball, Football, and Softball teams for the Jayhawks. After earning his undergraduate degree, he Mark worked as an athletic trainer for the Men’s Football and Tennis teams at University of Colorado. Mark went on to earn his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the Kansas University Medical Center.
Most recently, Mark joined ARC, where he performs physical therapy and athletic training services. He is very active in professional organizations and has served as chairman for a Kansas Physical Therapy Special Interest Group. Mark continues to coach at basketball camps in his spare time.
Ryan N. Clark, MS, ATC/L, CSCS Liberty Clinic Director
Ryan Clark is an expert in the fields of athletic training/sports medicine, strength training and nutrition and heads the program implementation at ARC.
Ryan obtained his bachelor of science from Southwest Missouri State University in 1999 in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine. While at Southwest, Ryan received specialty training in kinesiology, biomechanics, injury assessment, throwing mechanics, therapeutic exercise, and modalities, sport psychology, sports nutrition, biomechanical analysis, orthotic prescription and formation, and special considerations for female athlete knee prehabilitation and rehabilitation.
Ryan went on to receive his Master of Science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, in Exercise Physiology with an emphasis in biochemistry and sports nutrition while serving the Saluki Football program as a graduate assistant athletic trainer. Following graduation from SIUC, Ryan served as the Director of Sports Medicine/Outreach at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center of Mayfield, Kentucky. Ryan worked in outpatient physical therapy during the day and provided medical/injury coverage for the athletic programs of a local high school in the evenings. While at the JPMC, Ryan also designed and implemented programs to address prepubescent strength training, adolescent strength training, athlete performance training, and nutritional plans designed for today’s athlete.
As ARC’s Liberty Clinic Director, Ryan oversees the work conditioning programs in Liberty, as well as all KEY Method functional capacity assessments performed company wide. He manages the sports performance programs in Liberty, is responsible for outreach athletic training services in the Liberty/Excelsior Springs area, and is responsible for marketing to local physicians, case management groups, and employers.
Ryan is a certified KEY Method assessment specialist, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and is in the process of gaining McKenzie Method part A certification.
Brock Edmonds, ATC-LAT
Brock Edmonds has first-hand experience in the skills athletes need to take their game to the next level. That’s because not only is Brock a seasoned athletic trainer, but he also played college soccer at Kansas Wesleyan University. Brock went on to serve as an athletic trainer for the women’s volleyball team at Missouri Southern State University as well as becoming a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the men and women’s tennis teams at Baylor.
Before joining ARC, Brock earned his degree in Athletic Training at Washburn University. He went on to gain a Master of Science in Education from Baylor University with an emphasis in Sports Management. He currently serves as another one of ARC’s team of talented sports performance specialists in ARC’s Topeka, KS clinic. In his free time Brock enjoys cycling, hiking, running, and fishing.
Scott Peters, MPT, ATC
Scott Peters joined the ARC team in January of 2008 relocating to Kansas from the Chicago Suburbs where he was employed at one of the elite Physical Therapy/Sports Medicine Companies in the area, Athletico. During his four years at Athletico, he specialized in sports medicine, outpatient orthopedics and rehabilitation while working with athletes of all ages. There he was involved in the Overhead Athlete Program. During his physical therapy school clinical affiliations at the University of Iowa, Scott worked with the University of Iowa Football team as well as providing clinical support for Junior Hockey’s Tier I Cedar Rapids Rough Riders.
Scott is originally from Iowa and completed his undergraduate work at Central College in Pella, Iowa. His education there guided him through the Exercise Science/Athletic Training track allowing him to work with most major college sports and to go on to become certified as an Athletic Trainer.
Scott is a sports performance specialist at ARC’s North Kansas City clinic.
Scott Jones, MS, PT, CSCS—Grandview Clinic Director
Scott Jones is not only a physical therapist, but also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. At ARC, Scott has developed programs specifically to help athletes gain power, speed and endurance so they can reach their maximum potential in sports performance. He specializes in treating athletes injured during competition as well as workers injured on the job.
Scott graduated from Pittsburgh State University and received a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy form Wichita State University. Scott is the Director of ARC’s Grandview Clinic.
